Context
MC Evolved was a public Minecraft survival/SMP server that began as a friends server and later became a larger public community.
What I Did
I owned and operated the server. I managed the community and staff, configured the server, planned updates and events, and responded to player feedback.
At first I had help with backend work, but over time I took on more of the technical side myself. Much of the learning came from fixing problems while people were actively playing.
Running the Server
The server had claims, shops, quests, custom items, an economy, Bedrock support, and protection against cheating. I configured plugins and permissions, dealt with lag and conflicts, balanced the economy, and handled tickets and announcements.
Players only saw whether the server felt fair, fun, and active. Keeping it that way meant making regular changes without disrupting the community.
Approach
I wanted moderation to be welcoming. Players were helped to understand the rules before being punished, which made the server feel more relaxed.
Outcome
MC Evolved ran for almost a year and had more than 25 players online at its busiest. I managed a staff team of around five and generated roughly GBP 150 through Tebex.
